Tree Of Life

The patterns in this mural draws inspiration from Tatreez, a traditional Palestinian embroidery technique, passed down from mothers to daughters. I’ve been looking at stitches like the olive branch, ears of corns and bunches of grapes, tree-motifs with meanings such as peace, connection to land and resilience. The powerful shapes and storys of this handicraft absolutely blew me away, and seeing craftivists around the world stitching tatreez in solidarity with Palestine, gives a glimpse of humanity in all madness.
